Mountain Equipment Specialists Since 1997
Get ready for your next adventure.
Fernie Bike Guides will introduce you to some great singletrack.
Like a mountain hut anywhere, The Guide’s Hut is a place to find fellow adventurers. It is a place to get ready for skiing, camping, hiking, climbing, backcountry tours, and spins on mountain bike trails.
Speaking of spins on mountain bike trails, this summer you can do more than just try and/or buy bikes from us. We are pleased to introduce Fernie Bike Guides. Choose what fits for you from a great series of workshops. Bring old friends, meet new riders and benefit from professional coaches who will help you confidently flow down and up single track.
Discover what’s in store for you.
Summer or Winter, the right clothing is key to fun in the great outdoors. We can outfit you from boxers and bras up, with soft, breathable, waterproof layers that really perform. For your feet, we have sandals, bike and climbing shoes, hiking, skiing, touring and mountaineering boots. Great socks.
Summer in Fernie is best spent outside exploring.
Not sure what equipment to buy? Demo high-performance bikes from Trek and Devinci. Or go casual and opt for a cushy cruiser. In the Winter, rent touring skis or a splitboard, plus skins, shovel, probe, transceivers and ABS airbags. Try the newest all mountain skis or rent some snowshoes.
We also carry essentials like seam sealant, down wash, Gore-Tex patches, Bialetti Espresso Makers and JetBoil Coffee Presses. After all, there is no reason to forgo good coffee in the backcountry.
Service is a big part of The Guide’s Hut experience. We are proud to be the authorized dealers of everything we sell; our experienced staff will help you keep your bikes, skis and outdoor gear in top shape.
Behind the scenes
Product testing – Mark’s favourite part of the job.
The Guide’s Hut is owned by Mark and Beth Gallup, a couple with a long history in the mountains – in Fernie and around the world.
Next time you are in downtown Fernie, stop by and say hello. See what’s new, and tell us about your latest adventure. After all, as Mark says “We are all one big community of like-minded adrenalin junkies. It’s about playing in the great outdoors together.”
